After San Pablo, we went to San Matias church in Tumauini.
It was built in 1780s by the Dominican and was declared a National Historical Landmark by UNESCO in 1989.
Their altar exhibits a magnificent brick carves. The design is simple yet impressive.
It is considered the most artistic brick structure in the Philippines.
And its cylindrical bell tower is considered one of its kinds in the whole country.
Among the three churches in Isabela, I fell in love with this church. And even with the other churches I saw throughout the country, this definitely topped my list. The best preserved church among the three churches we’ve visited and the best among all the churches I have explored.
