Fiesta celebration at my Brother-in-law’s Hometown – Cabagan, Isabela

The main purpose of our trip to Cagayan-Isabela-Kalinga is to attend the fiesta of my brother-in-law’s hometown in Cabagan Isabela. Cabagan is a first class municipality of Isabela, with its own market, school and the St. Paul the Apostle Parish church in which they are celebrating the feast day. The town also boasts the largest gymnasium in the whole Isabela province and the grand fountain of Cabagan Square Park.

It’s fortunate that their house is just a few steps from the park so we were able to feel the festive spirit. We watched the performance of the local bands, witnessed their ethnic dance showdown, and looked over native objet d’art exhibited at the municipal hall. We have tasted their food specialties especially the “pansit cabagan” and delicacies like “inatata” and “babengka”.  We also experienced riding a horse-drawn carriage which is one of the main transportation in their place.

Our sincerest gratitude to the Banguilan Family for their warm welcome, the sumptuous meals they have cooked and full accommodation they have provided throughout our stay.

About pinay travelaholic

A Filipina who loves to travel. Born with a family of travelers and started traveling when she was just 2months old. Raised in the hustle and bustling life of the metro but has savored the laid back lifestyle of the countryside during summer vacations. At a very young age, she has experienced being stranded on a train for 3 days, being thrown inside the window of the bus just to save a seat and “top loaded” (riding on the roof) on a PUJ just to reach their destination. …Traveling became her adventure since then.
