Misamis Oriental Province

There are three gateways to Northern Mindanao Region, one is in Butuan City, another is in Ozamis City and the most commonly used is in Cagayan de Oro City in Misamis Oriental. We arrived in Cagayan de Oro via Lumbia Airport (but as of the moment, the new airport located at Laguindingan, Misamis Oriental is already operational).

Noticeably, one means of transportation here in CDO is the multicab. It resembles a small jeep but operated by a motorcycle (we also wanted to ride a skylab – a motorcycle with horizontal benches, but unfortunately it is prohibited around the city).

Looking for a place to eat is easy since fast foods are all around the metro. For us first timers, we ate at Chicken Ati-atihan (similar set-up with Mang Inasal) on our first night and we were fortunate to experience the “Café Night Market” on our second night. Café Night Market is an event which is held at Plaza Divisoria only every Friday and Saturdays wherein the street is close for stalls and street foods.

About pinay travelaholic

A Filipina who loves to travel. Born with a family of travelers and started traveling when she was just 2months old. Raised in the hustle and bustling life of the metro but has savored the laid back lifestyle of the countryside during summer vacations. At a very young age, she has experienced being stranded on a train for 3 days, being thrown inside the window of the bus just to save a seat and “top loaded” (riding on the roof) on a PUJ just to reach their destination. …Traveling became her adventure since then.
