What makes Thailand special? Thailand is known as the only country in Southeast Asia that was not colonized by any foreign entity, so their customs and traditions are very much intact.

What made our trip extra special? Our trip was scheduled at the peak of the Thai Protest (that ended in a coup d’état). Together with my travel hubby and two cousins, our patience, wit and determination were put into a test as most of our itinerary and route were changed as initially planned.

Gateway to Thailand is via the Suvarnabhumi Airport.

To start with, we were supposed to ride the free shuttle going to Victory Monument (Bus#551) then will take a cab going to Silom, but we were informed by one of my cousin’s colleague that there’s a heavy traffic along the way because of the demonstration. So we opted to ride the Airport Rail Link to Phaya Thai Station then connect ride from Phaya Thai to Sala Daeng Station, which is a half kilometer away from the hotel where we will be staying for the night.

About pinay travelaholic

A Filipina who loves to travel. Born with a family of travelers and started traveling when she was just 2months old. Raised in the hustle and bustling life of the metro but has savored the laid back lifestyle of the countryside during summer vacations. At a very young age, she has experienced being stranded on a train for 3 days, being thrown inside the window of the bus just to save a seat and “top loaded” (riding on the roof) on a PUJ just to reach their destination. …Traveling became her adventure since then.
