Side Trip in Samar

We attended the wedding of my travel hubby’s cousin in Leyte and stayed there for 3 days. On our 3rd day we went to the province of Samar and visited Caluwayan Palm Island Resort in Marabut, just 45 minutes away from Tacloban.

Caluwayan Resort has a modest entrance gate which makes the resort not noticeable along the way. But once you get inside the premises you will see a well maintained resort that has a complete facilities like accommodations, cottages, restaurant and infinity pool.

Entrance fee is only P20 but you need to pay additional P200 if you want to use the infinity pool. You can also use the cottages for free if you will stay for less than 3hours and if you will avail the food in their restaurant, so we did.

But the best part of the resort is the beautiful rock formations nearby. You can even go near the rock formations by foot and enjoy the beach at the same time.

We may have stayed a little longer or visited other tourist site like the one in Basey Samar but we need to end our short stay as we have our flight back to Manila in the afternoon.

A Filipina who loves to travel. Born with a family of travelers and started traveling when she was just 2months old. Raised in the hustle and bustling life of the metro but has savored the laid back lifestyle of the countryside during summer vacations. At a very young age, she has experienced being stranded on a train for 3 days, being thrown inside the window of the bus just to save a seat and “top loaded” (riding on the roof) on a PUJ just to reach their destination. …Traveling became her adventure since then.
