Swimming with Whale Sharks

Whale Watching Briefing Site is located in Brgy. Tan-awan, Municipality of Oslob Cebu. Before the activity proper, every tourists needs to undergo a short orientation of Do’s and Dont’s. Local rates for watching P300, snorkeling P500 and diving P600. Viewing is daily from 6AM to 12NN.

I am aware that some people find this activity harmful and life-threatening for the whale sharks, but I cannot resist the urge to see them up close considering I can’t dive neither can I swim. As the vendor told us during our small chit-chat while placing our things at their locker for rent, Barangay Tan-awan has been blessed to have these creatures inhabit their place. I just hope that LGUs would be stricter with their rules and visitors to be responsible enough to prevent harm to these gentle giants.

About pinay travelaholic

A Filipina who loves to travel. Born with a family of travelers and started traveling when she was just 2months old. Raised in the hustle and bustling life of the metro but has savored the laid back lifestyle of the countryside during summer vacations. At a very young age, she has experienced being stranded on a train for 3 days, being thrown inside the window of the bus just to save a seat and “top loaded” (riding on the roof) on a PUJ just to reach their destination. …Traveling became her adventure since then.
