Nogas island is a 26-hectare marine and bird sanctuary, also part of the municipality of Anini-iy. You can get to the island from Siraa-an Hot Spring for 10-15mins boat ride. Boat ride is P500 good for 10 pax. Environmental fee is P20 per person.
There are a lot to see in the island, white sand, mangroves, beautifully lined up trees and the light house. But due to time constrained, we were not able to set foot on the island. We just had the glimpse of the island from Siraa-an Hot Spring.
Siraa-an Hot Spring is a resort on a cliff overlooking the sea. It has a large swimming pool and several mini pools where you can relax while enjoying the sea view.
The resort is managed by the Local Government Unit of Anini-iy. Entrance fee is P20 for local and P50 for foreign.
Antique is a part of Western Visayas Region with 18 municipalities and San Jose being the Capital. It is accessible by land via Aklan, Capiz and Iloilo.
For our road trip in the provinces of Antique, Iloilo and Capiz, we rented a van for a whole day including the drop off to Iloilo airport. We were able to get the service of Kuya Tata, contact number 09299596690. We rented the van for P2,300 excluding fuel. Our fuel cost P950 plus P250 tip, total of P3,500 divided into 6.
Region VI or Western Visayas Region consist of 5 provinces namely: Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Iloilo and Guimaras. I have already visited Aklan province in 2010 with my siblings and cousins (check budget here) and in 2013 with my travel hubby’s relatives (check budget here). Last July 2016 together with my colleagues, I was able to visit the other 4 provinces with Negros Occidental as a bonus.
Here’s our budget and itinerary for this trip:
