Laguna is part of the Calabarzon Region which also include the provinces of Cavite, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon. It has 24 municipalities and its capital is Sta. Cruz.

Famous for its hot spring resorts, we stayed there overnight last July 30 in celebration of my dad’s 61st birthday and the baptism of my nephew.

Situated at the south part of Luzon with 60km distance from Manila and bordered by the provinces of Rizal, Cavite and Batangas. Laguna is well-known as the birthplace of Jose Rizal, our country’s national hero. Laguna is also the site of Mt. Makiling, after the legendary Maria Makiling, said to be a fairy and protector of the mountain. The municipality of Calamba in Laguna boasts different resorts that cater events such as family affairs and company outings.
